Founded by MacArthur Fellow Anne Basting, TimeSlips supports a global movement to bring meaning to late life through creative engagement.
The Timeslips program is a creative engagement storytelling program that infuses creativity and meaning-making into elder care. With a certified facilitator participants have the opportunity to co-create storytelling giving them the opportunity for creative expression and community building without having to rely on memory. In the story making process we shift the activity from ‘entertainment’ to engagement, learning and growth.
Storytelling gives the participants an opportunity to be reminded of who they are, why they are here and what is important to them. They have the opportunity to express themselves and connect their personal expression to a larger world thus giving their co-creators and care partners a deeper understanding of their values, identity and experiences. Timeslips creates an opportunity for play, joy, meaning-making and the development of deeper relationships contributing to an improved quality of life.
